We are a family-operated, artisanal formulator of Natural Body-Care committed to environmentally friendly, small-batch craft production. As a cosmetic industry veteran of over 25 years working with internationally acclaimed brands, and as a discerning consumer, I’ve always shared the important concerns of many others about how cosmetics are made – are harmful chemicals used in making them, is the land from which these ingredients are grown being farmed sustainably, is organic farming being facilitated, and if so, is animal waste being used to fertilize, what is the environmental impact of farming such ingredients, are the workers who make these ingredients paid fairly? And the questions continue regarding the packaging, transportation, and finally the retail presentation and claims being made to us about these products – how accurate are these representations?
Our own personal searches often begin from information at hand, so if we only use that information at hand to form conclusions, we have nothing but what others want us to believe. Even as a cosmetics industry marketing executive, for years I thought I was using the best, most natural body-care, but only when I began studying formulation and looking into the source and compounding of the ingredients used did I really begin to understand.
What is now clear to me is that what we put onto our bodies goes into our bodies. And what is also clear to me is that by applying product with the aggressive chemicals often found in commercial and so-called natural body-care, we are assaulting the natural chemistry of our skin and hair. With truly natural body-care we can effectively cleanse, tone, moisturize and nourish our skin and hair, and we can do this without absorbing harmful chemicals and toxic substances into our bodies, and we can do this without interfering with the natural chemistry of our skin and hair.
At the start of my career in the cosmetics industry, and while attending international trade events in the late 80’s I was impressed with these artisanal soap-making retail shops called Savonneries that I had come upon in the south of France at that time. In these small village shops artisans were extruding small colorful and fragrant bar soaps. I was inspired by these Savonneries, but wanted to expand upon this by artisanally extruding not only larger, more natural bar soaps, but a more complete range of natural body-care products as well. From that early inspiration I began working with engineers designing proprietary equipment, I’ve traveled the world sourcing botanical ingredients, and I’ve collaborated with the best natural body-care formulators and chemists in the industry to finally start this unique business concept called Crystal Springs Soap Factory.
We’ve created a completely transparent, vertically integrated manufacturing-to-consumer business model whereat we actually make a complete range of natural body-care products on-sight. We’ve actually built an artisan lab in a retail store whereat consumers can see us testing, mixing, extruding, filling and labeling the products we sell at the store. And to further expand our reach to consumers around the world, we are also aligning with selective retailers who would like to represent our featured brand, or private-label or co-brand with us, as we also provide turn-key private label services to companies who would like their own brand. Come join with us in our commitment to apply the leading edge in science and technology to the purest form of natural ingredients in formulating the cleanest and greenest body-care possible.
